This one is named Funky Mabel, named by my friend Jim Phipps. It’s my nod to the Master of the Telecaster, Albert Collins.
The music world lost a true original all too soon. Nick Curran died Friday of cancer at the age of 35.
Nick was a great singer and guitarist. Someone described him as a cross between T-Bone Walker and Little Richard. I’d throw in some rockabilly and punk names too. Here’s a great video of him wailing and playing a cheapo Squier 51, sounding awesome.
